Cathy Freeman Foundation Founding Chairman finishes record breaking 10,000km fundraising road-trip

We are thrilled to announce that founding Chair and dear friend of the Cathy Freeman Foundation, Andrew Cannon AM, has clicked over the 10,000km mark and arrived back in Melbourne last night after an amazing two month journey through Outback Australia in celebration of the

Cathy Freeman Foundation's 10th anniversary year.

To mark the occasion, Andrew set off on an an audacious journey in a one-of-a-kind 1923 Presentation Vauxhall, driving the eye-catching vintage car a record breaking 10,000 kms around Australia.

As Andrew and the car visited iconic towns and cities across regional and remote Australia, his mission has been to raise $150,000 to support much needed education programs for Indigenous children and to talk to as many Australians as possible about closing the gap in Indigenous education outcomes. The 10,000 km fundraiser has taken Andrew from Victoria through to South Australia, up through the red centre and onto Darwin, through outback Queensland and out to Palm Island, and then back to Melbourne down the east coast.

We are overwhelmed with the support and awareness for the Foundation that Andrew has raised during the audacious two month roadtrip.

We wish to thank Andrew and everyone that donated to the Foundation. We are only $5000 away from reaching Andrew's  goal of raising $140,000, of which all proceeds will go to encouraging Indigenous children's education.
